Optin CC

Optin provides a family of cement APC controllers called CAPC. The family includes both Rule-based (Expert System) controllers CAPC-ES as well as our unique Hybrid MPC controller CAPC-MPC.

CAPC dates back to the nineties and was developed together with PPC Cement to provide the first kiln and mill  Hybrid MPC controller. The hybrid controller uses both MPC and Expert System technology to control a cement kiln. The controllers are graphical and intelligent in the true sense.

The rule-based control (CAPC-ES) is provided as a continuum of older Expert System based control as requested by various cement producers who are used to the philosophy of ES control. However, we state unequivocally that the MPC is in general far superior to ES control.

The MPC controller looks at a number goals such as production, clinker, quality and energy efficiency and simultaneously tries to satisfy all goals in the presence of many other constraints and objectives.
