Optin has developed a full suite of simulation and scenario planning tools for water supply and distributions systems.

These solutions run with time and show how water resources such as rivers and dams change as rainfall, infrastructure and demand change over time. This helps to understand non-linear, real world wate rbehaviour for mission-critical decision support.

One can have as many rivers, channels, pipes, dams and other water-related items as required. There is no limit. The water systems may be rolled up into higher-level objects such as countries,  districts, catchment basins, water authorities etc. Thus summaries and totals etc can be viewed at a glance.

The system can also include factors and dynamics related to economics, power and industrial site daily, seasonal demand, dams silting up, population changes, and extraordinary events such as pump breakdowns, cyclones and flooding, heat and droughts, new urban area switch on in jumps, etc.

This solution is totally unlimited in the sense that any type, and number of such features can be added. For example leaking taps, using treated waste waters, and pollution spills. Each item is full intelligent object which can be customised with as much ( or as little ) functionality and properties that is available.

These simulators can also monitor in real-time the water situation, and help identify issues long before they are recognised by operators.
