Realistic AI modelling & analytics

Optin has been involved in a number of power and other analytic projects looking at for example weather, climate, and grid power issues and problems, both at national level and at microgrid level. These projects have objectives like optimal generation, failure compensation, and general grid stability.

Such work has involved the use of both conventional and advanced mathematical techniques. The use of such techniques is typically because conventional methods have major limitations, for example standard Fourier analysis amongst others. Then the other issues which are overlooked in most models include correlation versus causality, and the effects of feedback which ar ehard to understand

Wavelet Analysis

With fualt analysis and detection, it is importnat to localise both in the time and freqeuncy domain where a problem occured. This is important in process control and power grid optimisation,

Time domain region analysis

Multivariaible time domain visualisation is highly problematic, and we have developed custom methods of incendent analysis and dispying of such analo=molies

Wavelet analysis of Wind power

Analysis showing the distribution of wind power frequency patterns for a given period of time. This is important for demand side management, and grid balancing where the adjustments are a complex function of time due to the chaotic plus partially predictable patterns of power generation.

Power generation analysis

Analysis showing the relationships for a given period of time of  Thermal versus unplanned maintenance and use of OCGT power generation as compensation.
